We held a fire drill under the watchful eye of our local Fire Department. Our students moved safely, calmly, and confidently throughout the evacuation, and the firefighters praised how smooth and orderly the process was. We’re very proud of how well everyone responded, it was a great example of our whole community working together to keep our school safe.
As an added highlight, the Fire Department invited our Year 1 students to explore their fire truck and held a Q&A session in the playground before providing valuable fire‑safety training for our site team.
We are excited to invite our community to our Glenealy Art Walk in Thursday 4th June 5 - 6:30 pm
It was another early morning today. This time, it was the football team's turn to rise and shine before classes. Everyone played incredibly well, showing fantastic teamwork and bringing a massive burst of energy to the pitch before the school day even started.
Our Year 2 artists continued their deep dive into the elements of art. They created their own printing blocks to stamp out vibrant repetitive patterns. They explored colour theory mixing a range of secondary and tertiary colour using only primary colour. Finally they experimented to mix custom shades, exploring how shifting value can create a sense of depth, light and 3 dimensional form. We are so proud of their creativity. Their magnificent collaboration will be exhibited at our Glenealy Art Walk 2026 on June 4th.
Our Year 3 students lit up the auditorium today with confident presentations across their learning, from How We Organise Ourselves and investigating the Science of Sound to showcasing Snap Circuits, sharing sports highlights, demonstrating clear procedure writing, and ending with a beautiful violin performance. A vibrant celebration of curiosity, teamwork, and student voice.
It was another early start for our biathletes again today as they braved the weather to compete against FIS. This time the race was at TKO. All out biathletes did a fantastic job, with 2 finishing in the top 3 🏊🏃♀️
Year 6 children enjoyed the challenge of installing a solar powered water pump in our Outdoor Classroom pond. The pump will keep water moving in the pond, encouraging birds and other wildlife to pay a visit
Our Year 2 artists have been deep diving into the essential elements of art. To explore texture and value, they got wonderfully messy using palette knives to apply paint mixed with impasto, alongside a variety of textured materials on huge canvases. They also experimented with line and space, swapping traditional brushes for sticks, rollers and scrapers, all the while mastering the intentional beauty of leaving negative space. The result? Some truly colossal banners that showcase students' creativity! See them in person at our upcoming art show on June 4th.
Year 6 welcomed parents into the classroom to showcase their incredible eco-efficient building dioramas as they wrap up their Sharing the Planet unit! This exhibition allowed students to pitch their designs while demonstrating how our daily energy decisions impact both the environment and global society. We are now looking forward to our upcoming excursion to the Zero Carbon Building, where we will get to see these sustainable concepts brought to life in a real-world, eco-efficient structure.
In preparation for the upcoming ESF Art Show at City Hall next month, the official curators came by to collect our artwork. We are absolutely thrilled to share that 7 of our students' pieces have been selected for this prestigious show!
